Golf -- Davis is medalist for Eagles

Matt Davis emerged the medalist with a nine-hole round of 41, leading Wayne Christian past Trinity Christian of Greenville 171-223 in a non-conference match Thursday afternoon at Walnut Creek.
Clark Rose provided a 42 for the Eagles, who remained unbeaten in two outings. Jonathan Greene, Chad Smith and Andrew Smith each carded a 44.
Eric Williams also participated in the meet.
Wayne Christian faces Village Christian in a Class 1-A Carolina Christian Conference match today.
