Goldsboro's Sean Sheffield had two hits as the Cougars fell 9-1 at home to Dixon on Friday.
Dixon (3-3) was led by Stephen Andryshak with two hits.
Curtis Mozingo and Eugene Norman had one hit each for Goldsboro (0-5), who travels to Washington on Tuesday in Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference action.
The Cougars' Monquavius Edwards was credited with effective relief work on the mound on Friday.
