Baseball -- Gators pull away at ND

CALYPSO -- Spring Creek's Daniel Thompson had three hits, including two doubles to lead the Gators at the plate in a 7-1 win on the road over North Duplin in Class 1-A Carolina Conference action.
Jed Potter and Jes Snyder added two hits each for Spring Creek, who hosts Princeton today.
Thompson, Potter nd Snyder were three of seven Gators who drove in runs in the win. Spring Creek posted all seven runs in a four-inning stretch in the middle of the game.
Josh Lewis picked up the win on the mound for the Gators, tossing five shutout innings and striking out six.
Matt Braswell (1-1) got the loss for North Duplin.
