Baseball -- Faith-RM outslugs WCDS

ROCKY MOUNT -- Wayne Country Day's Spenser Briggs turned in a two-hit, six-RBI performance, but Faith Christian of Rocky Mount rolled to a 16-6 win in Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference play on Tuesday.

Briggs had a first-inning grand slam and a double, but the Chargers were unable to hold the lead.

Faith scored 11 runs in the first three innings off of the young Wayne Country Day pitching staff on its way to winning in six innings.

Ryan Ford added a double in the loss for the Chargers (0-2, 0-1 CPIC).

Wayne Country Day hosts Northwood Temple at the Eastern Carolina Athletic Park on Thursday.
