Soccer -- WCDS tops Cougars

Wayne Country Day's Sarah Coleman had a goal and an assist as the third-ranked (N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association poll) Chargers defeated Flora-McDonald 3-1 on Wednesday at home.
The Cougars came into the game ranked fifth.
Christin Grubb and Virginia Best added goals for Wayne Country Day, who improved to 3-1 overall heading into Friday's Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference match at Faith Christian of Rocky Mount at 4 p.m.
Charger goaltender Ellen Elmore had 13 saves on the game, six in the first half and seven in the second.
