Barnes paces Aycock track

KINSTON -- Shonte Barnes emerged the top triple jumper and shot putter in Thursday afternoon's sweep of Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference boys track foes Kinston and West Carteret.
Barnes recorded a distance of 38 feet, one inch in the triple jump, and a mark of 39-2 in the shot put for the Golden Falcons, who collected 90.5 points.
The Patriots were second with 63.5 points. The host Vikings were third with 29.
Kevin Cobb (100 dash), Chris Hubbard (300 hurdles), Jamorris Dickerson (high jump), Montez Hamm (long jump), Carson Sasser (800 run) and Michael Scott (3,200 run) each picked up an individual win.
