WINTERVILLE -- Greene Central lost a seven-run lead and fell apart in a 16-8, non-conference loss against South Central on Wednesday afternoon.
The Rams led 7-0 before imploding on defense in the bottom half of the fifth inning. The host Falcons benefited from nine errors and plated 11 runs, grabbing a lead they'd never relinquish.
Lance Murray and Corey Skinner each collected two hits and combined for three RBI in the loss.
Greene Central (5-6) begins Eastern Plains 2-A Conference play Friday afternoon at North Pitt.
