Golf -- GC falls in non-league match

AYDEN -- Ayden-Grifton downed Greene Central in a non-conference, nine-hole golf match Thursday afternoon at the Ayden Golf and Country Club.
The Chargers finished the day with a 161 total while the Rams wound up with a 174.
Adam Andrews led Ayden-Grifton with a 38. Cameron Taylor added a 39, Blake Harrison had 40 and Matt Tripp, 44.
The Rams were led by Colby Murphy with a 41. Brandon Jones and Blake Sutton each had 44 and Daniel Creek had 45.
Greene Central (10-6) will be at Maccripine Country Club next Monday afternoon for an Eastern Plains 2-A Conference match. Ayden-Grifton has a Carolina 1-A Conference match at The Cardinal in Kenly.
