Baseball -- Panthers hand GC a loss

SNOW HILL -- Clark Harrington and Chris Roebuck had North Pitt's only hits as the Panthers beat Greene Central 5-2 Friday night in the Eastern Plains 2-A Conference opener for both teams.
Jordy Davis took the loss for the Rams (4-6, 0-1) despite surrendering just three hits.
Greene Central committed four errors and scored its only runs on Joseph Wade's two-run home run in the first inning, one of his two hits. Davis and Jared Williamson got hits for the Rams.
Brandon Scott collected the win for North Pitt (10-2, 1-0).
Greene Central hosts North Lenoir on Tuesday.
