After yielding a first-inning hit and a walk, Charles B. Aycock's Jenny Jackson sat down 20 Eastern Wayne batters in a row and did not allow another base runner as the Golden Falcons remained unbeaten with a 5-0 win at the Warriors' diamond on Wednesday.
Jackson (11-0) struck out 14 against one walk and helped her cause at the plate with four hits, including a double and an RBI.
Brittani Edgerton, Kandace Burroughs, April Vick and Jackie Schmidt all had two hits each. Edgerton drove in two runs, while Schmidt tripled.
Chrissy Setliff scored twice for Aycock (11-0, 7-0 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference), who pounded out 18 hits, but stranded 11 runners.
Aycock coach David West was particularly pleased with the bottom half of the lineup.
"The bottom half of the lineup scored four runs and got several hits and RBI," he said. "They really came through last night."
Aycock returns to action at home on April 12 against Wilson Hunt at 7 p.m.
