Danielle Pender spearheaded a first-inning offensive outburst and Wayne Christian cruised from there in a 9-3 victory against Carolina Christian 1-A opponent Community Christian.
The visiting Cyclones took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
The Eagles countered with a three-run surge. Pender tripled and helped drive in some runners, who had reached base on walks.
Community pulled within 6-4, but Wayne Christian tacked on three more runs in the sixth. Pender, Reesman and Melissa Sheldon each provided key hits during the rally.
Carrie Teachy also added an extra-base hit.
Wayne Christian (5-4, 3-2 CCC) returns to action April 22 against Cresset Christian of Durham.
