WINTERVILLE -- Southern Wayne's Ashley Clemens had two hits, including an RBI in a 10-4 loss to New Bern at the Sara Law softball tournament in Winterville last Saturday.
In Thursday's action, the Saints topped rival Eastern Wayne 7-1 as Whitley Thornton picked up the win, yielding just one run in seven innings and added two hits at the plate -- including a double and an RBI.
East Duplin defeated Southern Wayne 11-1 on Thursday as Karly Rivenbark and Tiffany Bostic had two hits each. Bostic had a triple and two RBI.
