Soccer -- Coleman paces WCDS past Faith-RM

Sarah Coleman collected two goals and an assist as state-ranked Wayne Country Day throttled Faith Christian of Rocky Mount 5-1 in Classes 1-A/2-A Coastal Plains Independent Conference play Tuesday afternoon.
Christin Grubb and Virginia Best each contributed a goal and an assist for the Chargers, ranked No. 3 in the latest N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association poll.
Louise Northington notched a single goal.
Hannah Grantham dished out an assist.
Keepers Amanda Benton and Ellen Elmore combined for one save and the victory in goal.
Wayne Country Day (6-4, 2-4 CPIC) travels to Kerr-Vance Academy on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
