SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek and Tarboro dueled for 100 minutes on the Gators' field on Tuesday, but neither could come away with a goal as the game finished in a 0-0 tie.
Barbara Witherington had five saves in the goal for the Gators (3-5-1 Classes 2-A Eastern Plains/1-A Carolina/Super-Six).
Spring Creek had 15 shots on goal but never capitalized.
"We did not play aggressive enough. We needed to control the ball better at midfield," Spring Creek coach Michelle Cobb said.
Cobb praised Christie Bradshaw and Rachelle Mercatoris at midfield and Jamie Lee and Kaitlin Murphy for defensive efforts.
The Gators return to action on May 3 at conference-leading North Lenoir.
