VANCEBORO -- Charles B. Aycock pitcher Brittani Edgerton threw her first no-hit game at the varsity level as the Lady Falcons beat West Craven 11-0 in six innings Friday night.
Edgerton struck out five and did not permit a ball to leave the infield.
"She hit her spots real well and had super control all night," said Aycock coach David West. "She played pretty good defense from the mound, too."
West also noted the defensive work of Jasmine Dobbin, Kandace Burroughs, Meredith Wilkerson and Lindsay Lowe.
Offensively, seven different players knocked in runs for the Lady Falcons (18-0, 10-0).
Aycock, ranked second in the latest 3-A nchigh.com coaches/media softball poll, takes on West Carteret on Tuesday in Pikeville.
