Baseball -- Rams upset conference leader

PINETOPS -- Greene Central's Hunter Chase had four hits, including a double, as the Rams defeated Class 2-A Eastern Plains Conference leader SouthWest Edgecombe 12-8 on the road.
Joseph Wade had two doubles and three RBI for Greene Central (8-13-1, 2-6 EPC 2-A), while Chris Lane had two hits and an RBI.
Travis Rouse picked up the win on the mound for the Rams, who travel to Tarboro on Friday.
Andrew Joyner got the loss for the Cougars.
