Golf -- Wayne Christian's Davis earns medalist honors

Matt Davis earned medalist honors with a nine-hole score of 37 as Wayne Christian defeated Greenfield School 162-212 in a season-ending meet Tuesday afternoon at Walnut Creek.
The Eagles completed the season 18-0.
Chad Smith complemented Davis' effort with a 40. Andrew Radford and Jonathan Greene rounded out Wayne Christian's four-player totals with scores of 42 and 43, respectively.
Wayne Christian returns to action next Monday in the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association Class 1-A tournament. The two-day tournament will be contested at Hickory Meadows Golf Club in Whitakers.
