DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne's Dominique Williams had two hits, including a triple, as the Saints were defeated 4-0 in 10 innings at home on Tuesday.
Williams tried to stretch the triple into an inside-the-park home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh but was cut down at the plate by Washington.
"We had to take that chance, because we weren't hitting very well behind her," Southern Wayne coach Brad Matthews said. "It just didn't work out."
Southern Wayne (7-13 overall) dropped to 4-8 heading into Friday's game at rival Eastern Wayne.
The Saints' Lesli Darden shut Washington out through nine innings of work, yielding four runs, none of which were earned.
Washington struck for four in the top of the 10th. The Pam Pack's Jeri Bell got the win on the mound.
