JV softball -- S. Wayne evens ECC slate

DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne's Kristen Beaman provided the game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh as the Saints defeated Washington 7-6 on Tuesday.
Felicia Martin and Samantha Otellio each added RBI singles for the Saints, who improved to 4-4 in the Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference.
Whitli Thornton got the win on the mound for Southern Wayne, striking out four in seven innings of work.
The Saints travel to rival Eastern Wayne on Friday.
