PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock starter Garrett Davis yielded just two hits in six innings of work and struck out 14 of the 19 batters he faced in an 8-0 win over South Central at home on Thursday.
The Golden Falcons' Brandon Price came on in relief to strike out the side in the seventh.
Including Wednesday's win against West Carteret, Aycock's pitching staff has struck out 29 batters in the last two games.
Davis helped his cause with a 2-3 effort, while Cortez Gilbert and Chris King also went 2-3. Joseph Toler added a home run in the win for Aycock (20-1), which improved to 11-1 in the Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference.
The Golden Falcons face Eastern Wayne next Tuesday.
