Prep softball -- Saint JVs knock off county rivals

Southern Wayne's Kristen Moody had a single and an RBI as the Saints defeated rival Eastern Wayne 10-3 in New Hope on Friday.
Krystal Pendergraft added a double for the Saints, while Emily Taylor was credited with four stolen bases.
Whitley Thornton picked up the win on the mound, yielding only two hits in seven innings of work.
Lydia Hirschy singled for the Warriors.
Southern Wayne (5-4 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference) travels to West Craven on Thursday.
