Softball -- So. Wayne JV ends season

VANCEBORO -- Kristen Moody provided the game-winning double as Southern Wayne wrapped its up Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference season with a come-from-behind 6-5 win against West Craven.
Moody's two-RBI double capped a four-run seventh inning as the Saints (7-10) posted a 6-4 mark in league play.
Jessica Howell and Emily Taylor also had solid offensive games for Southern Wayne. Taylor scored twice and stole three bases.
Whitli Thornton claimed the pitching win, striking out eight and walking two in a complete-game effort.
