Boys and Girls Club meets Mar Mac for Dixie District crown

The Wayne County Boys and Girls Club rebounded from the losers' bracket to beat Sampson County American 9-4 Thursday and advance to the Dixie Youth Baseball 9-10 year old district championship tournament at Mar Mac Community Ball Park.
The Boys Club, which had lost to Sampson County American earlier in the tournament, got a strong outing from pitcher Cambric Moye, who struck out seven and allowed just two hits.
Gerrell Davis had two hits to pace Boys Club's six-hit attack, while Lamar Best, Hunter Newsome, Moye and Zack Mozingo all had hits.
Boys Club will take on host team Mar Mac in the championship game tonight at 7 p.m.
The winner advances to the Dixie Youth state championship tournament.
