Attention tournament
travelers --
Wayne County will begin play in the N.C. Legion state tournament on Wednesday, August 3 at either 5 or 8 p.m in Shelby.
On Tuesday, August 2, a pre-tournament banquet will be held at Cleveland Community College at 6:30 p.m. with guest speaker Bobby Richardson -- former New York Yankee and Shelby native.
The banquet is open to everyone. Cost of the banquet is not known at this time.
