Prep tennis -- Saints fall at the coast

MOREHEAD CITY -- Southern Wayne swept the three doubles matches at West Carteret, but were swept in all six singles contests as the Patriots won 6-3 at home on Wednesday.
Southern Wayne got wins from the doubles tandems of Beth Brown and Emily Taylor, Kasey Powell and Christy Westbrook and Katie Savage and Leslie Barrow.
In singles, West Carteret won all six matches in straight sets.
The Saints (0-4, 0-3 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference) look to rebound today at home against Washington at the Mount Olive College tennis courts.
