VANCEBORO -- Charles B. Aycock's Lindsey Newman had a team-high 12 kills as the Falcons suffered a 17-25, 25-10, 19-25, 24-26 road defeat at West Craven.
The loss dropped Aycock (6-2 overall) to 3-1 in the Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference heading into Thursday's home match gainst West Carteret.
Jenny Jackson added 10 kills for Aycock, who lost a 17-10 lead in game three after winning game two.
"They cover the floor extremely well ... the best we've seen all year," Aycock coach Davis Harris said. "We were just inconsistent last night. We bounced back in game two and wore them out quick. We went up 17-10 and made a couple of passing errors and got inconsistent again."
