Aycock takes two from Fike
WILSON -- Charles B. Aycock won two matches on Wednesday at Wilson Fike, defeating the Golden Demons 6-3 and 5-3 to improve to 13-1 on the season.
The win was the 11th and 12th in a row for the Golden Falcons.
Aycock's Raychel Batts (13-1), Leslie Sasser (14-0) and Carlyn Claiborne (14-0) each won two singles matches each, while Laine Purcell (10-4) went 1-1 on the afternoon. Sasser and Claiborne have yet to drop a set in singles this season.
The doubles combinations of Sasser-Claiborne (13-0) and Batts-Patricia Owen (6-1) each won a pair of doubles contests.
"Our girls played really hard against a very consistent and talented Fike team," Aycock coach Luke Vail said. "Today's matches were good wins, but we've still got some areas that need improvement before the playoffs."
The Falcons return to action on Tuesday at home against West Carteret.
