Botonis prevails for WCS
Jennica Botonis claimed the Wayne Christian's only win at number one singles as the Eagles lost 7-1 to Durham Cresset Christian, which currently controls first place in the Class 1-A Carolina Christian Conference.
The Eagles handed Cresset its only loss earlier this season.
Botonis improved her record to 10-0 overall with a 6-0, 3-6, 10-7 win against Kristen Rall.
The Eagles, now 4-3 in conference play and 7-3 overall, play their next match at home today against CCC opponent Trinity of Raleigh.
The number one doubles was not contested.
