Strawn wins GMGC Championship

Sam Strawn won the two-day Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course club championship this past weekend.
Strawn shot a 70-71 to win by four strokes over Perry Balltzigler, who shot a 76 on Sunday after trailing by one stroke after Saturday in the championship flight.
Other flight winners included: James Griffin (79-76-147) in first flight; Tom Tipton (83-82-165) in second flight; Bobby Adams (87-84-171) in third flight; Phil Talerico (88-79-169) in fourth flight; John Breshears (74-72-146) in senior flight; and Donnie Frederick (78-78-162) in super senior flight.
Runners up in each flight were: Steve Adams (77-79-156) in first flight; Tom Ferencz (83-84-167) in second flight; Brandon Rouse (88-83-171) in third flight; Jerry McWilliams (87-91-178) in fourth flight; Dean Edmundson (78-72-150) in senior flight; and Dan Mooring (83-79-162) in super senior flight.
Strawn holds the singular distinction of being the reigning champion at two courses at the same time. Strawn is also the club champion at Lane Tree Golf Club.
