Saints fall
to Greenville Rose
GREENVILLE -- Dionne Dotson tallied a team-leading eight points, but it wasn't enough in a 45-33 non-conference loss at J.H. Rose on Monday evening.
Shakoria Clark added seven points and Ebony Darden contributed six for the Saints, who fell to 1-2 overall.
Samantha Little paced the Rampants with 10 points.
Southern Wayne opens its Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference schedule at home next Tuesday against Kinston.

fends off Chargers
WILSON -- Wayne Christian nearly lost a 15-point lead, but survived a fourth-quarter rally by Wilson Christian and prevailed 34-31 in a non-conference contest Tuesday afternoon.
Brittany Sullivan led Wayne Christian with 11 points, while Charlie Ipock contributed nine. Logan Dawson added six.
The Eagles (3-1) return to action at home Dec. 3 against Cape Fear Christian.
Middle schools
Dillard 23, Brogden 22 -- Jherika Harrell pumped in a game-high 10 points for Dillard, which evened its record at 1-1. Janisa Faison led the Rams with eight points. Dillard entertains Grantham next Monday.
