HOOKERTON -- Faith Christian's Steven Marshall scored 17 points to go with five steals and five rebounds in the Conquerors junior varsity team's 30-28 at Mount Calvary on Tuesday.
The win was Faith's first of the season as it improved to 1-3.
Dillard boys 47, Rosewood 38 -- Alonzo Hayes led Dillard with 10 points. Dillard (4-4, 3-2) plays Greenwood on Jan. 10.
Goldsboro boys 62, Spring Creek 29 -- Goldsboro's Javaris Simmons led his team with 18 points, while Dustin Uzzardo added 14 points. Goldsboro (7-1, 2-1) hosts Norwayne on Jan. 10.
Eastern Wayne boys 41, Greenwood 39 -- Reco McCarter led Eastern Wayne with 11 points and five steals. Darian Cahill added 10 points for the Warriors (8-0, 4-0), while Stacey Edwards provided eight points and 10 rebounds. Greenwood was led by Adrian Moss with 19 points. Eastern Wayne travels to Brogden on Jan. 10, while Greenwood hosts Dillard.
Norwayne girls 34, Brogden 13 -- Bridget Briggs and Shanta'l Johnson scored 10 points each for the Cobras. Brogden's Janisa Faison and Sylvia Slaughter paced their team with five points each. Norwayne (3-4, 2-2) travels to Goldsboro on Jan. 10.
Greenwood girls 34, Eastern Wayne 32 -- Danielle Daniel led Greenwood with 12 points and eight assists, while teammate Natalie Outlaw had 10 points and six rebounds. Lindsey Fredrick paced Eastern Wayne with nine points. Greenwood (7-1, 4-0) hosts Dillard on Jan. 10, while Eastern Wayne travels to Brogden.
Goldsboro girls 31, Spring Creek 26 -- Zeara McDuffy led Goldsboro with 15 points, as teammate Victoria Williams added 12. Goldsboro (3-5, 1-2) hosts Norwayne on Jan. 10.
