During the second round of the Wayne County Men's Amateur at Walnut Creek Country Club, a Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course member, Richard Costner, aced hole number nine. Costner used a seven-iron to ace the 164-yard, par three. Costner was playing with James Ratliff and Harvey Reinhart, and it was his third career ace.
