Faith still unbeaten
DURHAM -- Faith Christian remained unbeaten in 12 outings as the Conquerors beat Fellowship-Durham 53-46 on Monday.
Faith's Aaron Sladick led the way with 15 points, while teammates T.J. Sasser and John Spencer had 13 points each. Josh Brannan paced the Conquerors (12-0) on the boards with 10 rebounds.
Faith returns to action on Friday at Raleigh Christian.

WCDS falls in
battle of ranked teams
FAYETTEVILLE -- Wayne Country Day's Tavon Waters pumped in a game-best 36 points in the Chargers' 78-76 loss at Trinity-Fayetteville on Monday.
WCDS and Trinity entered the game tied for fifth in the N.C. Independent Schools 1-A rankings. The Chargers fell to 11-5 with the loss and return to action on Jan. 17 at Wayne Christian.
Adam Wright added 13 points for WCDS, while Jeff Franklin and Shadoe Stewart had nine points each.
Eastern Wayne's Jonathan Hill scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the Warriors claimed a 51-43 win at home on Monday.
Eastern Wayne improved to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in the Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference heading into Friday's contest at home against Wilson Beddingfield.
Faith Christian's Drew Floors, Josh Spencer and Eric Powell had six points each in the Conquerors 42-21 win at Fellowship-Durham on Monday.
The Conquerors improved to 5-3 overall heading into Friday's contest at Raleigh Christian.
FAYETTEVILLE -- Wayne Country Day's David Wilson posted 21 points as the Chargers fell 54-49 at Trinity-Fayetteville on Monday.
Kameron Byrd added 18 points for WCDS (8-4).
The Chargers return to action on Jan. 17 at Wayne Christian.

WCDS' leading scorer, Tiara Broadie, saw limited action as she is still recovering from a knee injury. Molly Peacock added five points for the Chargers.

WILSON -- Eastern Wayne's Joey Burridge picked up his 100th career win on Monday with a win by fall at the 152-pound weight class as the Warriors emerged with a 57-12 win at Wilson Beddingfield on Monday.
Eastern Wayne (17-5 overall) improved to 2-0 in Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference and will host the Battle at Little Big Horn on Saturday with Spring Creek, Rosewood and Southern Wayne coming to New Hope.
Burridge, Cody Britt (145), Brian Lincoln (160) and Travis Turner (171) all claimed pins for the Warriors, while Foy Coley (189) won by decision. Eastern Wayne's Chris Tesar (119) picked up a win due to flagrant misconduct by a Beddingfield wrestler. The Warriors won five more matches by forfeit.

Gators place ninth
at North Brunswick tourney
LELAND -- Spring Creek's Wes Denham (215) and Eric Walters (130) placed second overall in their respective weight classes as the Gators finished ninth as a team at a tournament held at the Scorpion Classic at North Brunswick.
Spring Creek returns to action on Saturday at the Battle at Little Big Horn at Eastern Wayne.
Norwayne boys 57, Brogden 14 -- Shepard Whitfield and Tyheim Pitt had 12 points each for Norwayne (7-1, 3-1), while Justin Aiuto added nine points. The Cobras travel to Grantham on Thursday, while Brogden hosts Greenwood.
Dillard boys 35, Goldsboro 33 -- Demetrio Irby scored 11 points for Dillard (7-1, 4-0) as teammate Braddock Gross added 10. Dillard hosts Mount Olive on Thursday, while Goldsboro entertains Spring Creek.
Norwayne girls 37, Brogden 18 -- Beth Carter scored 19 points for Norwayne (7-1, 3-1), while Courtney Sheeks dropped in 14 points. Brogden's Makyia May led her team with eight points. The Cobras travel to Grantham on Thursday, while Brogden (3-5, 1-3) hosts Greenwood.
Goldsboro girls 45, Dillard 22 -- Zeara McDuffie scored 18 points to lead Goldsboro (4-4, 4-0), while teammate Amber McEachern and Lakiyah Campbell had 13 and 11 points respectively. Akeyanna Whitler had 18 points for Dillard. Goldsboro hosts spring creek on Thursday, while Dillard hosts Mount Olive.
Greenwood girls 51, Eastern Wayne 39 -- Tiarra McIntyre led the Lady T-Birds with 16 points and six assists, while teammate Sharmori Worrell added 12 points. Morgan Smith led the Warriors with 14 points. Greenwood (8-0, 4-0) travels to Brogden on Thursday as Eastern Wayne (6-2) travels to Rosewood.
