Wayne County teams dominate ECC wrestling tourney

Three Wayne County teams -- Charles B. Aycock, Southern Wayne and Eastern Wayne -- combined to seize all 14 gold medals in the season-ending Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference wrestling tournament contested Saturday.
Aycock claimed its third straight team championship with 198 points compared to 161.5 for the runner-up Saints. Eastern Wayne finished third with 146 points.
