Trojan netters cap regular season with victories at Banner Elk

BANNER ELK -- The Mount Olive men's and women's tennis teams capped their regular season on a winning note as the Trojans posted a pair of 9-0 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference victories over Lees-McRae on Tuesday.
The men's team improves to 12-13 overall and 8-2 in the CVAC. The Trojans already clinched third place in the CVAC standings.
The women's team extends its winning streak to three, improving to 12-9 overall and 8-2 in the CVAC. The Trojans are also assured of third place in the CVAC women's tennis standings, their best-ever finish.
Both teams begin first-round play Friday in the 2006 CVAC Men's and Women's Tournaments at Sumter, S.C. In the men's tournament, Mount Olive is the No. 3 seed and will open against the No. 6 seed, which will likely be Pfeiffer.
On the women's side, Mount Olive will also be the No. 3 seed and will open against Queens, which clinched the No. 6 seed.
The men's and women's tournaments run through Sunday.
The tournament champions advance to NCAA Division II post-season play.
