C.B. Aycock athletes receive awards at spring ceremony

PIKEVILLE -- On Monday, Charles B. Aycock announced its Spring Athletic Awards in seven varsity and three junior varsity sports.
Varsity baseball -- Falcon Awards -- Jackson Massey, Bennett Jeffreys, Will Spence, David Rose and Jason Presser.
Varsity softball -- Senior Awards -- Staci Barnes, Kandace Burroughs, Chelsey Byers, Brittani Edgerton.
Varsity boy's track -- Coaches Award --Daniel Pennington; Outstanding distance runner -- Carson Sasser; Outstanding sprinter -- Montez Ham; Best all around -- Spruce Lee; Oustanding first-year runner -- Nik Fredrick.
Varsity girl's track -- MVP -- Amy Fryt; Coaches Award -- Crystal Lewis; Most Improved -- Chantel Gaines; Hustle Award -- Megan Hales.
Varsity boy's tennis -- MVP -- Ben Evans; Most Improved -- Ben Nichols; Coaches Award -- Jackson Wooten.
Varsity boy's golf -- MVP -- Ryan Campbell; Coaches Award -- Redding Pittman.
Varsity girl's soccer -- Offensive Player of the Year -- Amanda Schlaeppi; Defensive Player of the Year -- Chelsey Jackson; Most Improved -- Margaret Connolly; Coaches Award -- Angela Lane.
JV baseball -- MVP -- Jay Rose; Coaches Award -- Jackson Wooten.
JV softball -- Defensive Player of the Year -- Cynthia Burroughs; Most Improved -- Staci Barnes.
JV soccer -- Defensive Player of the Year -- Taylor Lane; Offensive Player of the Year -- Lauren Adcox.
