Eagles get two wins

Wayne Christian's boys soccer team claimed a pair of wins, before falling in the championship game of a preseason tournament held at their home field on Saturday.
The Eagles blanked Cape Fear Christian 5-0 in the first game as Bradley Yelverton scored two goals, while Spencer Heath, Shea Glaesman and Brian Alexander had one goal each.
Game two saw Wayne Christian defeat Wilson Christian 4-3 with Yelverton and Eric Williams providing two goals each.
In the championship, Trinity-Raleigh held on for a 2-1 win over the Eagles. Adam Brannan scored the lone goal for Wayne Christian in the loss.
The Eagles host Wayne Country Day at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
