Chatham Central shuts out Princeton

BEAR CREEK -- Princeton averaged less than 3 yards per carry and turned it over five times in a 45-0 loss at Chatham Central on Friday in non-conference play.
The Bears led just 7-0 after one quarter, then erupted for 38 points in the final three to steadily pull away. The Bulldogs slipped to 1-4 heading into next Friday's home contest against Hampstead Topsail. The Bears improved to 1-4.
Gerrell Bogle led Princeton's ground effort with 57 yards on 18 carries. Bulldogs' quarterback Matthew Blackwell was 3-of-13 with two interceptions for 67 yards. Jared McLamb had one grab for 45 yards. The Bulldogs haven't scored in their last 10 quarters.
Chatham Central, now 1-2 against Class 1-A Carolina Conference teams, racked up 228 yards rushing and 138 yards through the air and finished with 366 yards of offense.
The Bears host 1-A powerhouse Thomasville on Friday.
