Goldsboro drops EPC 2-A opener

TARBORO -- Tim Kornegay tallied Goldsboro's lone touchdown on a quarterback sneak as the Cougars opened their Class 2-A Eastern Plains Conference season with a 21-8 loss at Tarboro on Friday evening.
Running back Tremé Boone rambled for 175 yards on 30-plus carries against the Vikings, who collected their fourth win in seven outings this season.
Goldsboro remained winless in seven games.
Tarboro improved to 4-3.
