Ayden-Grifton crushes Spring Creek, 57-0

LITTLEFIELD -- Perseus Williams and J.D. Strickland each rushed for more than 100 yards as Ayden-Grifton cruised past Spring Creek 57-0 in Class 1-A Carolina Conference play Friday evening.
Williams posted 118 yards on eight carries, while Strickland tallied two touchdowns and 101 yards on 16 carries. The Chargers, who improved to 2-0 in conference play, piled up 352 yards on the ground.
Spring Creek (3-5, 1-1 Carolina) managed just 114 yards of total offense. Senior Josh Wright collected 77 yards rushing on 18 carries, and caught one pass for 10 yards.
The Gators committed five turnovers, four fumbles and one interception, which led to five Charger touchdowns. Ayden-Grifton accumulated 419 yards of total offense and leads the all-time series 6-0.
Spring Creek entertains Rosewood next Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at "The Swamp."
