Hunt throttles Eastern Wayne

WILSON -- Wilson Hunt extended its unbeaten Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference win streak to eight games with a defensive-filled 23-6 conquest of Eastern Wayne on Friday evening.
The homestanding Warriors (4-4) remained unbeaten in two ECC matchups this season and travel to Charles B. Aycock next Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Hardy Talton Stadium.
Hunt forced three turnovers and limited Eastern Wayne to 54 yards of total offense -- 26 rushing and 28 passing.
Kendrick Best provided the visiting Warriors' lone score with a 74-yard punt return for a touchdown late in the second quarter. Hunt led 7-6 at halftime.
Eastern Wayne (5-3, 1-1 ECC) is the guest of Wilson Beddingfield next Friday.
