K-Tribe pounds Avalanche

SALEM, Va. -- Kinston pounded out 13 hits and claimed its seventh straight win, 15-4 over Salem on Monday evening.
Chris De La Cruz, Nathan Panther, Michael Aubrey, Stephen Head and Wes Hodges recorded two hits apiece for the K-Tribe. Head (2-for-3), Aubrey and John Drennen (four RBI) each clouted a home run. Aubrey scored three runs.
The K-Tribe has manufactured 10 or more hits in five consecutive outings and scored 10 or more runs in four of those contests. Kinston is averaging nine runs and 11 hits during its current winning streak.
Five Salem pitchers combined for 11 walks in the contest. Starter Sergio Perez (2-3) lasted just two innings, giving up seven earned runs on six hits.
Kinston starter David Huff (4-2) fanned five Salem batters and surrendered two earned runs in a five-inning stint.
The teams continue their three-game series today. Ryan Edell is scheduled to pitch for Kinston. Game time is 7:07 p.m.
