Wayne County Post 11 and New Bern Post 24 will wait 48 hours to play their crucial Area I East South Division contest.
A typical summer thunderstorm, accompanied by sharp lightning, dumped a significant amount of rain and rendered the Boykin Field diamond unplayable Wednesday evening. The game has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Friday.
New Bern owns a 1/2-game lead over Wayne County (13-2 overall) in South Division play. Weather permitting, Post 11 plays another key South Division contest today at Pitt County 160.
