WILSON -- Senior co-captain David Wilson tallied two goals as Wayne Country Day hammered Wilson Christian Academy 4-0 in the The Brittany III men's soccer invitational on Saturday.
Sophomore Will Wolf and senior Matt Wolf provided one goal apiece for the Chargers, who improved to 2-1 overall.
Keeper Ryan Ford notched three saves in the shutout.
"It was nice to see the players pick themselves up after a poor showing the previous night, and I was proud of their accomplishments since they weren't playing at full strength," said WCDS head coach Baron Heinemann.
The Chargers had one junior varsity substitute on the bench and two JV players on the field. They open their Class 1-A Coastal Plains Independent Conference schedule at home Tuesday afternoon against archrival Greenfield.
