MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive College jumped six places to No. 18 in the latest NABC Division II men's top 25 basketball poll.
The Trojans have been ranked in among the nation's top 25 teams for six of eight weeks, and have received votes in every poll so far this season. Mount Olive (14-4 overall) posted a 3-0 record last week, which included victories against Conference Carolinas heavyweights Belmont Abbey, Queens and defending national champion Barton.
Pfeiffer ended Mount Olive's nine-game win streak 111-110 on Monday.
The Trojans received 52 points in this week's poll and trail 17th-ranked Tarleton State by 18 points. Abilene Christian is ranked No. 19.
THOMASVILLE -- Brandon Streeter has been selected the Conference Carolinas player-of-the-week for the second time this season, and third time overall in his Mount Olive College career.
Streeter averaged 20 points an outing last week as the Trojans knocked off Belmont Abbey, Queens and reigning Division II national champion Barton. The 6-foot-7 senior forward converted a combined 17 of 23 shots against Queens and Barton, and added five field goals against Belmont Abbey.
For the season, Streeter is averaging 15.8 points and a team-leading 8.4 rebounds per game. His 66.0 field-goal percentage is the 12th-highest in the nation, and he ranks in the top 50 in rebounding.
A native of Jacksonville, Streeter has the field-goal percentage in conference play. He ranks second in rebounds and eighth in scoring.
