Burke Badenhop worked six-plus innings in his Florida organizational debut and Cameron Maybin uncorked a tape-measure home run in Carolina's season-opening, 3-1 victory over Southern League rival Mobile.
Badenhop held the BayBears scoreless through five innings and permitted an unearned run in the sixth inning. Reliever Jesus Delgado wiggled out of a bases-loaded, eighth-inning jam.
