Sowers throws complete game

Freshman Sthil Sowers threw his first complete game on the collegiate baseball scene as East Carolina dumped No. 27-ranked UNC Wilmington 6-1 on Tuesday evening.
Sowers, who starred at North Lenoir, held the Seahawks scoreless for 82/3 innings. The right-hander permitted six hits and posted five strikeouts. It was Sowers' fourth mound win of the season.
ECU improved to 28-13 overall.
