Kinston scored twice in the bottom of the eighth inning, but Lynchburg held on for a 3-2 victory Sunday afternoon at historic Grainger Stadium.
The Hillcats belted home runs in the first and seventh innings, and led 3-0 before the K-Tribe started their comeback. Jared Goedert and Cirilo Cumberbatch each had an RBI hit in the rally.
Kinston (6-14 overall) begins a nine-game road swing today at Salem.
