Lucas May delivered the game-winning hit in the eighth inning as Jacksonville blanked Carolina 2-0 at the Baseball Grounds on Tuesday evening.
May's single broke a scoreless tie and spoiled Chris Volstad's shutout bid. However, Volstad couldn't overcome seven walks in his 71/3 innings stint.
Carolina fell to 18-14 overall.
