Alex Castillo smacked a walk-off home run in the 10th inning as Kinston escaped Salem 10-9 at historic Grainger Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Beau Mills and Jared Goedert each added a homer for the K-Tribe, which built a 9-1 advantage through five innings. Salem pecked away at the deficit and tied it at 9-9 on back-to-back, bases-loaded walks in the ninth.
Castillo's homer gave Kinston its fifth win during second-half play.
